Q1 (January – March):
  • Capital projects are approved and communicated to units, Jan
  • Project scope developed and finalized, project charters developed, Jan *once project charter is finalized, no changes will be made
  • Fiscal year-end, all invoicing and purchase orders closed, March
Q2 (April – June):
  • Capital projects work starts from previous years requests, June
  • Deferred maintenance (FRP) projects work begins, June (may continue into remainder of active teaching year)
Q3 (July – September):
  • Capital planning cycle begins with annual capital call for submissions, July
  • Capital request deadline all units – outer year project requests (2 years) with a view to a multi-year focus, September
  • Capital projects work continues to September
Q4 (October – December):
  • Fiscal budget submission for outer year, Dec
  • Outer year budgets evaluated, Dec
  • Projects requiring building permitting identified so permitting can be completed alongside charter, Dec
