Sustainability Report (2015-202)
Ontario Tech University addresses the pressing challenges of the climate emergency and biodiversity loss by integrating sustainability practices into the university’s operations, academic programs and through community engagement. This report provides an overview of the university’s sustainability achievements from 2015 through 2020.

Sustainability Policy
Established in 2014, this policy reaffirms Ontario Tech’s commitment to the sector-wide pledge, Ontario Universities: Committed to a Greener World, and reinforces our responsibility to the environment and the well-being of the province. Additionally, this policy will set forth the goals we strive to meet in order to reach the highest possible standards of sustainability on our campus and in our day-to-day activities related to academics, student and staff engagement, operations, facilities, planning, administration and community outreach.

Energy Management Plan
Ontario Tech's Conservation and Demand Energy Management (CDM) Plan was developed in response to the Green Energy Act, Ontario Regulation 397/11, published on August 25, 2011. This act requires all public agencies to prepare an Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan.
The Energy Plan has two parts:
- A listing of the annual energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions for each of the Ontario Tech’s facilities.
- A report of previous, current and proposed measures for reducing the Ontario Tech’s energy consumption and a forecast of expected results. The initial plan was due July 1, 2014, and is due every five years thereafter.

Strategic Sustainability Plan - Phase 1
This Strategic Sustainability Plan builds on the Sustainability Policy and was developed in order to support the long-term application of sustainability practices, which will help us meet our established goals.
